Abstract. This article presents the results of a systematic patent analysis aimed at identifying key trends and assessing the level of innovation in the design and construction of bridges for the Far North. The study covers the period from 2000 to 2024 and draws on Russian and international patent documentation.

The research methodology is based on a comprehensive patent search in the Rospatent and Google Patents databases using thematic keywords and International Patent Classification codes. A qualitative analysis of the selected patents focused on identifying technical solutions aimed at overcoming the specific challenges of northern construction: permafrost degradation, extreme temperatures, frost heaving, and ice impacts.

The analysis revealed an emerging system of complementary technological solutions spanning the entire lifecycle of a structure. Key results include: (1) identification of a trend away from isolated improvements toward integrated systems combining passive and active thermal stabilization (e.g., integrated cooling systems); (2) identification of prospects for deep industrialization through the creation of specialized components and modules of factory readiness; (3) determination of demand for new generations of structural materials with multifunctional properties (frost resistance, crack resistance, durability); (4) recognition of an emerging digitalization trend leading to the creation of adaptive control systems based on digital twins.

Based on the data obtained, promising areas for research and development work are formulated. It is concluded that Russia and the world have a significant scientific and technical reserve necessary for the implementation of strategic objectives for the creation of safe and durable transport infrastructure in the Arctic regions.
