Criteria for controlling parameters of the electronic deformation monitoring in the transport tunnels

Abstract. The article discusses approaches to the assessment of the transport tunnel geodynamic safety using electronic deformation monitoring (EDM) to observe and control the status of their structural elements, both at the stage of construction and in the period of operation. The continuous monitoring of deformations enables one to fix a rapid constructional response to the factors of geodynamic origin, forecast the behavior of tunnel and prevent development of the dangerous processes prior to the formation of damages, creating a float time for making decisions on stabilization of situation. The system can also show the hidden resource easing as a result of the invisible material corrosion, crack propagation and development of other damages. As an example, the authors gives the version of the monitoring system installed in the Severo-Mujskij railway tunnel, including the location map and models of the used strain gauges. The article analyzes the parameters of the electronic deformation monitoring representing the relative strains in the lining and criteria for their control. You may carry out evaluation of the tunnel geodynamic safety according to 3 categories that characterize its operating mode (standard, abnormal, boundary condition). The authors formulated the rules for analyzing indices of sensors of the electronic deformation monitoring and criteria for appointing categories of geodynamic safety.
