Abstract. The article refers to the abstract work as one of the forms of the educational process. The material about the history of the CAD appearance, the topics of the work program of the discipline is studied. The study of program material for AutoCAD begins with a workspace for 2D modeling. Text styles, dimensional styles, simple objects. Further from simple to complex. For the tasks «Reinforced concrete structures», the construction of complex objects is required. Creation of a block, styles of multileaders, multiline, tables. The graphic package of the KOMPAS program is the work with the library. Architecture and construction. The authors present the comparative characteristics of COMPASS and AutoCAD systems. The tasks and objectives solved by the systems are generalized. In conclusion of the article the conclusions about the use of these programs are considered. This increase in the efficiency of the work of engineers, creating quality development of project documentation.
