The relevance of the topic stems from the need to develop cost\u2011effective methods for stabilizing pile bases composed of clayey soils with insufficient bearing capacity in the construction of transport infrastructure. Traditional methods of injection stabilization (preliminary soil stabilization via injectors followed by pile installation, or stabilization after pile installation) have several drawbacks: high solution consumption, the need for additional technological operations, and unpredictability in the formation of the stabilization zone. As a rational solution, it is proposed to use the screw pile itself as an injector. To achieve this, holes are made in the pile shaft, through which a stabilizing solution is supplied under low pressure (using the impregnation method) into the areas of the soil base where maximum stresses develop. The study employed the method of alkalization of clay soils using an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. Full\u2011scale tests were conducted at a pilot site. Different volumes of the solution were injected into the piles, and after the treated soil gained sufficient strength, static pile load tests were performed. It was found that there is a linear relationship between the increase in load\u2011bearing capacity and the volume of the injected solution. The shapes of the stabilization zone were determined. Analytical formulas were proposed to calculate the required volume of the working solution, taking into account the porosity and moisture content of the soil. An additional advantage was noted: the alkaline environment in the stabilization zone prevents corrosion of the pile metal.
