The key factor determining the safe operation of a bridge structure is its load capacity. For these reasons, strengthening the main load-bearing structures of bridge structures is an extremely urgent problem. Complete replacement of the main beams is not always rational due to the high cost of carrying out such major repairs, the complexity and cost of dismantling structures and the prolonged closure of the structure for traffic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this research paper, the authors consider the main modern methods of reinforcing reinforced concrete bridges and overpasses with main beams of T-shaped, I-beam, plate and box sections and the existing development trends in this area. An overview of domestic and foreign literature on the topic of strengthening existing road reinforced concrete bridge structures is given. In addition, the authors have compiled a classification of methods for strengthening superstructures of bridges and overpasses made of reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, depending on the materials used, the technological features of major repairs to strengthen the reinforced concrete main beams of the superstructure, as well as the impact of the methods used on the integrity of the main load-bearing structures.
