Abstract. As China-Russia cooperation in transport infrastructure deepens — particularly within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union — both countries face the challenge of harmonizing standards and complementing technologies in road construction. Asphalt concrete paving is a critical stage in determining pavement quality; however, there is currently no systematic comparison of the technological processes employed by the two countries. This study aims to conduct a systematic comparison of asphalt concrete paving technologies in China and Russia, analyzing differences in technical standards, construction methods, and environmental conditions, so as to provide a basis for optimizing construction parameters and developing an adaptive management model. The methods used include literature review, comparative analysis of regulatory documents, and case studies. Key paving process requirements under the Chinese and Russian standard systems are compared, with reference to engineering practice data from typical climate zones in both countries. Critical differences are identified in paving speed, temperature intervals, construction techniques, and worksite conditions. The results show that China and Russia each possess distinct technological advantages: China leads in high-efficiency construction and IT-based process control, while Russia has extensive experience in low-temperature adaptation and pavement durability. The complementarity of the two approaches opens up possibilities for developing an integrated quality control model.
