Abstract. The article presents analysis of the layer thickness impact for the non-rigid pavement structures within construction tolerances on the stress-strain behavior of non-rigid pavement. Herewith it considers the requirements and the permissible tolerances of layer thicknesses regulated by the normative documents SNiP (Construction Standards and Regulations) 3.06.03-84 «Roadway Network» (which was in force through 2012) and SP (Construction Regulations) 78.13330.2012 «Roadway Network» (effective 2013).

To model the stress-strain behavior of non-rigid pavements in the framework of the conducted research we used a program complex MNLayer that implements the accurate solution of elasticity theory to calculate the stress-strain behavior of a multilayered medium and allows you to carry out calculation of all its components under the influence of the uniformly distributed static load. The results obtained in the course of the numerical investigations gave us the chance to conclude that the through-the-thickness heterogeneity of the non-rigid pavement layers being within the permissible SNiP 3.06.03-85 has a serious impact on the picture of its stress-strain behavior. The requirement strengthening to the thickness of the non-rigid pavement layers implemented in the SP 78.13330.2012 makes it possible to reduce the influence of the layer thickness variations of the pavement on its stress-strain behavior to a large extent.
