Abstract. The experience for seventeen years in applying innovative technologies in course of the construction of a bridge across the Volga is analyzed. Fourteen applied innovative technologies are listed and some of them are analyzed in sufficient detail, including: creation of a maintenance and operational facility near the bridge crossing facilities; anticorrosive protection of both metal and reinforced concrete structures; organization of a bridge deck with application of the modified bitumen and cast asphalt-concrete and the use of various types of modern expansion joints. It is concluded that all innovative technical solutions and materials used on the bridge crossing, such as the construction of pavement with the use of modified bitumen and poured asphalt, mastic waterproofing, anticorrosion protection of metal and reinforced concrete structures using Steelpaint materials, bearing and expansion joints of company Maurer Söhne, as well as development of the operation project with establishment of the a maintenance and operational facility for extracurricular bridge crossing that fully paid off and can be recommended for wide use in the practice of bridge building in Russia.
